Bike Friendly Cities: Copenhagen

The Ballots for 2014

Cycling is uber-efficient transportation that gets me from one place to another. And it's fun most of the time. With better planning and support for cycling transportation our community could blossom.

Let's find the political leadership with the willingness to create 21st century infrastructure for true complete streets. Is it time to normalize the bicycle infrastructure and stop all this slow incremental bike friendliness? How about we ctrl-c, ctrl-v (copy, paste) the best practices and get on with creating a 21nd century that works for people on bikes.

No Lycra required

For many of our transportation needs riding a bike can increase freedom, fun and exercise each day. The Lycra clad cyclists no doubt enjoy their exercise but Lycra is not required. Few car drivers wear the flame retardant, sponsorship laden suits that NASCAR racers wear. Likewise transportation cycling can become a wear-what-you-have-on ride that replaces a car trip. The impact on our wallet and well being are just the beginning of the benefits.

We can ask for improved space for bicycling so all people regardless of age or income can take part.
