Spring is for

Ahh... Spring ...

Equinox 2019 - March 20
Is March a perfect time to get on a bike and explore?  Some of us have been riding all year round. Other than the black ice that took me down it has been fantastic.

For the equinox I rode my single speed to the Auburn Street trail to visit Bow Brook. Last year on April 1st it had a little less snow. The beautiful Bow Brook (see below) is nearby and a great place to relax.

March is a great time to think about where you want to ride, get out and ride as well as think about your role in the community.

As mentioned last week new publications are outRethinking Streets for Bikes was just released from National Institutes for Transportation and Communities and in February the US DOT published the Bikeway Selection Guide.

Locally in 2019 the State of New Hampshire DOT is collaborating with Alta Planning + Design on the nhpedbikeplan website and they want your input! The survey and crowd-sourcing map seek your input, interests and concerns.

Another local issue about to strike is the loss of this tranquil trail and major impacts to Bow Brook. There is considerable momentum to build something called Langley Parkway Phase 3 which will replace this quite area with traffic, noise, pollution and more driving.

For now you can take a relaxing hike or ride here. How long this lasts is up to us.

If you're so moved to do something to preserve the trail and defend it against the powers that be... get busy.

It's not going to do so without us!
