SAVE OUR LAND, SAVE OUR TOWNS
In Pennsylvania the organization Save Our Land, Save Our Towns is working to revitalize community from a stark landscape following 50 years of car dominated development.
"A growing number of Americans have grown disgusted with a throw-away culture that allows once-magnificent cities and towns to wither away .... They're tired of the constant driving, the ugliness, the feeling of isolation brought about by sprawl. They yearn for safe, verdant, walkable neighborhoods."
In Concord, NH we face similar issues to those of towns and cities across the nation. How to revitalize our downtown and strengthen community? What can we gain from a focus on liveability and really embracing Complete Streets for all people - regardless of their transportation choice, age and ability?
